On September 4, 2025, at GITEX Nigeria, the National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI) unveiled the InnovateNaija Challenge. This ambitious initiative is not just a competition, but a nationwide search aimed at tapping into the immense pool of talent within Nigeria's youth. With a staggering total prize of N250 million (around $550,000), this challenge seeks to showcase locally developed solutions in science, engineering, and manufacturing.
Fueling Creativity Across Nigeria: How InnovateNaija Breaks New Ground
InnovateNaija promises to empower innovators from every corner of Nigeria, offering N2.5 million grants to state winners, ultimately leading to three national winners. These innovators will not only compete for significant financial backing but also gain invaluable exposure and mentorship, fostering a new generation of entrepreneurs.
A Launchpad for Future Innovators: The NASENI Innovation Hub
In tandem with the challenge, NASENI announced the impending launch of an Innovation Hub aimed at bridging the gap between creative ideas and market-ready products.
